The Fairy Tale in Real World

The Fairy Tale in Real World

Have you ever gone on a trip that you never know where it ends? Have you ever had the feeling that there is an only way that you can go and it would be quite dangerous? Have you ever had a faith in your mind that pushed you go forward without fear? All these may be the situation for Josue, a little boy in the movie “Central Station”.
This is quite an old movie, which was shot in 1998 by the Brazil director, Walter Salles. There were only two main characters in this movie. One is the little boy, Josue, and the other is an middle-aged woman, Dora. They were not pretty actors or actress, but instead, they were the most ordinary persons living in the world. However, just these two persons developed the most beautiful friendship as they were on the journey to find the boy’s father. The boy lost his mother in an accident, so all that he hoped was to find his father that he never met. By going through various difficulties, they finally found the boy’s family and they had to separate. However, the friendship would never fade away.

I think many of us may have the experience like Josue that we were struggling in life and could do nothing, but go forward. We did not know where the end was or whether we could make it, but all that we had was the faith in mind. Just as the God in the film, in real world, it was faith that led us to keep on fighting and finally we would go out of the darkness and find another world. And don’t forget to see the beautiful scenery on the way. You may not be able to take a long time enjoy it as you should keep going, but what you have caught would be the most beautiful thing in your memory and remain forever.

  1. I like your touching title but the content more.

Friendship movie is always my favorite. The story in your introduction sounds amazing. And I also like what you said about faith, which is really a peaceful but powerful word. We always say that if someone can embrace a strong faith to what they want, it will finally gain a good outcome. I feel like this film is also a encouraging and worth enjoying one. will watch it at some point!

    Thanks!

    1. Thank you for replying! Yes, it's a movie about faith and actually there are also something about religion and the God, but actually the God is the same meaning of faith to ordinary people. Sometimes things may seem to be quite difficult, but as long as you have faith to accomplish it, you can keep it till the end and that's the most amazing thing. Thank you for your comments and enjoy the movie!

  2. It seems like a warm and touching story of ordinary people. In my opinion, the most touching thing is what happens to ordinary people. It is not surprising that smart people do something smart. But ordinary people not as smart as outstanding people, always give us a big surprise when they do something we think they are not supposed to achieve. I may find this movie and enjoy a moving moment! Good job!

    1. Thank you for your comments and I think you have inspired me more about this movie! Yes, it's a movie about ordinary people, so it will be more real in feeling. It seems that smart people always use their brains a lot when they communicate with others or even when they fall in love with others. However, in this movie, as the characters are not so "smart", we can see the pure friendship between them, which feels so real. What's more, it's true that ordinary people seem not to be so conspicuous as those so called "successful" ones. However, it does not mean that they are not good enough to be successful. Most of them are just leading a peaceful life and as long as they have faith in mind, they could become outstanding someday!

  3. This is the only Brazilian movie I have watched so far. I like your belief that there is something which can lead us to get though the darkness and “find another world”, however it’s more like a good wish or a promise that cannot be confirmed. It might be a little bit inappropriate to discuss such a subjective idea in an academic essay.
